NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Treasurys erased morning losses on Monday, the first day of trading after the long weekend in the U.S., as the ISM manufacturing survey posted a surprise decline in March.

 

Yields on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury note 10_YEAR -0.11% traded at 1.85% after the data release, compared with 1.87% earlier.

The dollar extended losses following the ISM data.

 

The ICE dollar index DXY -0.27% , which measures the greenback’s performance against six other major currencies, slipped to 82.740 on Monday morning from 82.998 on Friday.

 

The WSJ dollar index XX:BUXX -0.31% , which tracks the dollar’s moves against a slightly wider basket than the ICE index, declined to 73.31 on Monday from 73.56 on Friday.
