Gold medium term

Spot Gold short term is very volatile and hence we will place a medium term trade

 

Spot Gold has now visited its key support regions and is a good place to go long with 1270 targets. Elliott Wave count suggest this is a wave 5 rally which is looking for an end.

 

Strategy:

 

Buy at 1235

Stop 1215

Target 1270+

Gold

After touching the awaited reversal point that we determined yesterday at 1243.00, the metal has started to move downwards as seen on the provided four-hour chart. Stochastic overlapped negatively indicating that the bearish harmonic pattern is still affecting the movements. A break of 1230.00 will open the door for additional negative actions over intraday basis.

 

The trading range for today is among the key support at 1209.00 and key resistance now at 1265.00.

 

The general trend over short term basis is to the upside, targeting 1365.00 per ounce as far as areas of 1120.00 remain intact.

 

Support: 1235.00, 1232.00, 1226.00, 1219.00, 1216.00

Resistance: 1245.00, 1252.00, 1255.00, 1259.00, 1265.00

 

Recommendation Based on the charts and explanations above our opinion is, selling gold around 1240.00 targeting 1216.00 and stop loss above 1259.00 might be appropriate.

Gold Short term

Spot gold remains bearish in the short term however medium term uptrend intact above 1215.

 

Gold looks to consolidate before further rally or decline. Coming under 1215 would put a threat on the uptrend hence we will wait and watch the markets. The dollar and DOW are showing signs of a turn around which could add pressure on gold's rally.

 

Strategy:

 

Hold MT buys. Stay flat in ST

Gold has been in a choppy uptrend so far

 

We currently hold Medium Term buy from 1235. We have shown the Elliott wave count from a larger time frame perspective. As long as 1215 holds we assume that gold is in its wave (5) rally as the internal count is difficult to identify. In the short term target is the immediate resistance of 1260 and 1265.

 

Strategy:

 

Buy at 1246/1247

Stop 1240

Target 1261
