Greek poll pots Syriza back at 30%

Poll from VPRC/Epiraira shows Syriza 30% to New Democracy 26.5%. Euro tailing a bit. I never envisioned the day I would be trading Greek election polls.

US: MBA Mortgage Applications dropped by -1.3% last week

Down 0.9% in May vs April Up 3.2% y/y in week ended May 26 vs same week last year Sales running slightly higher than inflation but seem to be running into a slump.

WTI July Crude Plunges Ahead Of Inventory Data

WTI’s down around $1.5 from Asian highs  to around $89.38 and Brent crude down $1.8 to lows around $105 on the back of EU fears  and disappointment over China’s major stimulus measures (or lack of them..).

Equities are also weighing on the Crude market with European bourses down between 1.5-2.5%

 

Tonight sees the weekly API inventory release  around 2030GMT, with the more definitive  EIA release tomorrow at 1500GMT. Both sets of data have been delayed a day by the US holiday last Monday. US crude inventories rose around 880 ,ooo barrels last week and this week is expected to see a continuation of  the upward trend in stockpiles to levels not seen since 1990.

Crude prices have so far fallen around 15% this month.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — The U.S. dollar climbed to its highest level in nearly two years Wednesday, with the euro falling further under $1.25, as investors avoided risky assets amid incessant and growing worries about Spain’s finances and as well as fallout from Europe’s debt crisis.

 

The ICE dollar index DXY +0.26% , which gauges the greenback’s performance against a basket of six major currencies, climbed to 82.673 from 82.468 late Tuesday

 

.The euro EURUSD -0.6107% fell to $1.2438, its lowest since July 2010 and down from $1.2493 in North American trade late Tuesday.
