The Import Price Index released by the US Department of Labor informs the changes in the price of imported products into the US.The higher the cost of imported goods, the stronger the effect they will have on inflation, redunding in a higher probability of a rate rise. Generally, a high reading should be taken as positive (or bullish) for the USD, while a low reading is seen as negative (or bearish).

Fed Lockhart: Fed should keep QE3 option in case of new economic stress

Atlanta Fed President Lockhart said on Wednesday that QE3 stimulus wouldn't achieve much right now but the Federal Reserve should keep it as an option in case of new economic stress. He said that sterilized Operation Twist is an option for the Fed. He said he won't take any option off the table for Fed policy.

Lockhart expressed his disappointment by March employment report but said that doesn't signal the recovery is stalling.

He still expects the economy to rise by 2.5%-3% in 2012 although he noted that European problems remain a concern for the US outlook.

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — The dollar fell against the euro Wednesday, reversing some of the prior session’s move higher on the shared currency as stocks recovered and Spanish debt yields fell.

 

The ICE dollar index DXY -0.29% , which measures the greenback against a basket of six currencies, declined to 79.659, from 79.875 late Tuesday.

 

The euro EURUSD +0.3294%  rose to $1.3129, up from $1.3078 in late North American trading Tuesday.

พังงาแจ้งยกเลิกเตือนภัยสึนามิแล้ว

เมื่อเวลา 20.07 น. วันที่ 11 เม.ย. ศูนย์วิทยุตำรวจตะกั่วป่า แจ้งว่า ทางหน่วยเหนือได้แจ้งด่วนทาง วิทยุสื่อสารให้ทราบว่าให้ประกาศให้ประชาชนในพื้นที่ทราบโดยทั่วกันว่าทางศูนย์เตือนภัยพิบัติแห่งชาติได้ประกาศยกเลิกการเตือนภัยจากคลื่นยักษ์ สึนามิ จากเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวเมื่อช่วงเย็นที่ผ่านมา ทำให้ประชาชนส่วนหนึ่งต่างทยอยกลับเข้าบ้านแต่ก็ยังมีส่วนหนึ่งยังรอดูท่าทีอยู่ที่อบต.บางม่วง สำนักสงฆ์แหลมป้อมบ้านน้ำเค็ม อ.ตะกั่วป่า และอีกส่วนหนึ่งก็ไปนอนพักที่บ้านญาติ
