(Kitco News) - Comex gold futures prices ended higher and hit a fresh seven-week high Wednesday on more safe-haven investment demand amid the unrest in the Middle East, and on a weaker U.S. dollar index. The gold market bulls are also technically stronger as prices have moved well above what was psychological resistance at $1,400.00 an ounce. Comex April gold last traded up $8.80 at $1,409.90. Spot gold last traded up $10.50 at $1,410.00.

 

The gold market has seen safe-haven buying demand amid the instability in the Middle East. Protesting has turned into violence in major oil exporter Libya, while other Middle Eastern countries may be next in line to protest their leadership. There were rumors today that the major social media outlets like FaceBook were seeing calls for protests in Saudi Arabia. Crude oil futures prices have spiked higher rose to $100.00 a barrel Wednesday. Look for gold prices to continue to be supported by the uncertainty in the Middle East.

 

Gold market bulls are taking note of the fact that the U.S. dollar has so far not seen significant safe-haven buying interest it had enjoyed during past geopolitical unrest. The dollar index traded moderately lower today and is seeing a weakening near-term technical posture. If the U.S. dollar index continues to trade sideways to lower, that's also gold-market-bullish.

ดังนั้น = 1308.1+274.7 = 1582.8

หรือ อย่างน้อยควรจะถึง 1500 เลยใช่มั๊ยคะรอบนี้ค่ะ

Comex Gold Sells Off Sharply as Crude Oil Declines

 

(Kitco News) - Comex gold futures have sold off sharply in afternoon trading Thursday, dropping in tandem with a decline the crude oil futures market. April Comex gold last traded down $14.80 an ounce at $1,399.20. Crude oil has sold off on rampant rumors regarding Libyan leader Moammar Gadhaffi. One rumor circulating in the crude oil market is that Gadhaffi has been shot. The rumors have not been confirmed as fact. Crude oil has dropped sharply from its daily high of $103.41 and has fallen below the psychological $100.00-a-barrel level. If there is a perceived easing of the Middle East tensions in the market place, then crude oil prices would continue to decline and that would continue to be a bearish near-term development for the gold market.

Gold was also moving down with oil as rumors circulated that Libyan ruler, Gadhaffi, had been shot,

possibly leaving oil exports to function normally.

 

 

Rumors circulated again on Wednesday that investment banks had massive short positions in the silver market and if prices stayed above $31 they would be required to buy back their positions causing a parabolic spike in prices.

 

 

This news is nothing new. Phil Streible, senior market strategist at Lind-Waldock, said he has been hearing these cries for more than a decade. In the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's bank participation report for the futures market, there were 19,706 short contracts at the beginning of February, about 15% of open interest. A year ago, short positions were more than 37,000, which shows that the shorts are being unwound gradually and are gradually pushing the silver price higher.
