The good news is that the SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) has carved out an up-leg off of its Dec 29 low at 148.27 into today's high at 160.05 that exhibits very bullish form. This along with my 5.5-month cycle low last month argues that a significant correction has ended (Sep-Dec) and that a new bull phase has commenced.

 

In addition, let's notice that the GLD is sitting above both of its 200-day moving averages, which also is a very constructive sign.

 

That said, the not-so-good news (perhaps) is that I can make the case that the current up-leg is complete and needs a pullback into the 157 area prior to resumption of even more intense strength.

 

In any case, I am not exiting or hedging any pullback period, and would add to the GLD into weakness.

Finger on the trigger for gold buyers

I advocated buying gold on a break of $1641 yesterday but it has been a rocky ride so far. After a rally to $1647, gold slipped to $1634 but is now back in the money at $1643. The close above the 200dma bodes well but the lack of follow through is a concern. Dovish or QE talk from the ECB could be the catalyst for a quick move to $1675. I like longs here, adding at $1660.

คุณฯรู้ได้อย่างไรว่า แบงค์เก่าไม่เก็บ สมัยนี้ แทบไม่ได้เห็นธนบัตรดำดำ สกปรก หมุนเวียนในท้องตลาด และการออกแบบรุ่นใหม่มาใช้ ก็เพื่อเพิ่มเทคนิคในด้านการปลอมแปลง ให้ไม่สามารถกระทำได้ และนั้นก็คือ การพิมพ์ขึ้นมาทดแทนของเดิมที่เสียหาย ทุกๆครั้งที่เงินหมุนผ่านระบบธนาคารฯ ธนบัตรสภาพเก่าทุกๆฉบับ จะถูกส่งกลับไปที่ ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย เพื่อเผาทำลาย.

 

อนึ่ง บล็อคของธนบัตรที่พิมพ์ออกมาใช้ มีอายุ 10 ปีแล้ว เทคโนโลยี่ของพวกจัญไรที่พิมพ์แบงค์ปลอม. ออกมาหลอกใช้ตามต่างจังหวัดมีเป็นจำนวนมาก ถ้าไม่พัฒนาเพิ่มเติม อีกหน่อยชาติมีปัญหาความเชื่อมั่นในธนบัตรว่า จริง หรือ เก๊

ถ้า กรีซ เล่นบท ไม่มี ไม่หนี ไม่จ่าย และ ฉันจะเป็นฉัน อยู่อย่างนี้ จะขยับตัวทำอะไรก็ไม่ได้ เดี๋ยวโดนประท้วง คุณเด็กขายของว่า มีโอกาศ เป็นไปได้มากน้อยแค่ไหนคะ เต้าหู้เดาว่า มันจะเป็นยังงี้ ไปเรื่อยๆ

นั้นคือ ความหมายของรัฐบาลกรีซ รัฐบาลกรีซได้รับเลือกจากเสียงข้างมากของประชาชน ถ้ารัฐบาลประชานิยม ไม่ทำอะไรให้เด็ดขาด เป็นธรรมกับทุกๆ ฝ่าย เอะอะอะไร เรียกร้องปิดถนนจากกลุ่มคนบางกลุ่มฯ และรัฐบาลฯ ก็ยอม ก็พร้อมที่จะชดเชยออกคูปองส่วนลดอย่างนั้นอย่างนี้ เพื่อสร้างภาระรายจ่ายให้กับประเทศ และสุดท้ายก็มาตกอยู่ที่ประชาชนส่วนใหญ่จริงๆ ที่เสียภาษีให้รัฐบาลถลุง เมื่อวันนั้นมาถึง ประเทศกรีซยังอยู่ครับ แต่คนในรัฐบาลฯ อาจไม่มีแผ่นดินในประเทศกรีซ ได้อาศัย เพราะสร้างบาปกรรม ทกข์ทรมานให้กับอนาคตของประเทศชาติ

อีกอย่างหนึ่ง แบงค์ 500 และ แบงค์ 1,000 ที่ไม่มีแถบสีเงินสะท้อนสี บนหน้าแบงค์ ตอนนี้ คุณฯ เห็นบ้างไหม มีน้อยมาก ปัจจุบัน มีแต่แถบสีเงินทั้งนั้น เวลาที่ไม่มี พ่อค้าแม่ค้าในตลาด บางทีไม่อยากรับเพราะกลัว เก๊

Asian markets drop on China’s weakening inflation

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - China’s CPI is indicating a slowing economy as its December data registers 4.1% growth.

 

IHS Global analysts said policy makers’ concern was likely shifting towards the cooling economy, as underlying figures showed almost all non-food prices were on a weakening trend, while a deepening correction in the housing market appeared underway.

 

Alistair Thornton and Xianfang Ren, analyst at IHS say: “In theory, this should open up some more space for monetary loosening to combat slowing growth and a tumbling property market,” IHS analyst and said in a note follow the data release”.

 

Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average dropped by -0.74%, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 shed -0.2%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index and the Shanghai Composite Index ended the session almost flat, losing -0.03% and -0.05%.

 

South Korea’s Kospi was the only riser index, obtaining 1.03% extra value.

 

Crude oil is rising by 0.45% and gold by 0.32%, at $101.36 and $1648, respectively.

 

The Dollar Index quotes at 81.24 and the EUR/USD at 1.2714.

 

Ahead of a key Spanish bond auction and ECB’s interest rate decision, the European futures are signaling a rising opening. The German DAX 30 gaining 0.31% and French CAC 40 growing 0.48%.

Investors to track Italian and Spanish bond auctions and European banks monetary decisions

Eyes today remain on the euro area to see the latest developments and policy makers' monetary actions at the beginning of 2012 amid concerns the European debt crisis would push global economies into another recession.

 

Still, the main focus will remain on auctions by euro area nations, yet today more attention will be given as Italy and Spain will sell 17 billion euros of bonds to repay their huge debt.

 

Italy plans to auction 12 billion euros of notes today and 4.75 billion euro tomorrow by auctioning 3-, 5- and 15- year bills, while Spain is intending to sell 5 billion euros of bonds maturing in 2015 and 2016 today.

 

Fitch said on Tuesday Italy is on the brink of having its credit rating cut. Also, it said a number of euro area economies, including France and Spain, are under review for a possible downgrade at the end of the current month. 

 

Furthermore, Fitch predicts the euro area to relapse into a "shallow recession" this year.

 

On the other hand, Destatis said German growth pace eased to 3% growth in 2011 from 3.7% expansion in 2010, while it expects 0.25% growth in the fourth quarter. 

 

However, the ECB is predicted to leave the benchmark interest rate unchanged today after lowering it in the past two meetings to 1.00%, while it will continue its support to banks, especially after the latest data had shown the climb to record high in the usage of the ECB's overnight deposit facility by European banks.  

 

Before today's auctions and rate decision, the euro is hovering around 16-month low versus the U.S. dollar at 1.2720.

 

In the U.K., the British economy will release important manufacturing data, yet the main highlight will be on the BoE's rate decision announcement.

 

Last week's data showed improvement in the economy's main sectors, yet the outlook will depend on the latest developments in the euro area, as stated recently by many U.K. officials.

 

With inflation retreating and expected to slowdown further this year, the bank may be encouraged to increase the stimulus to overcome the negative impact of the European debt crisis.

 

Though, printing more money will probably take place in February after the end of October's stimulus program next month which will coincide with the release of the quarterly inflation report; thus, expectations refer to no change in the bank's monetary policy today.
